内容简介：
A full review of the planetary instabilities often termed the “Anthropocene” condition must entail belated recognition of ethical and quasi-philosophical shortcomings in profiling the place and agency of the human in the life-web. As an illustration and contribution, this talk reviews contemporary French-language intellectual expressions of radical and necessary uncertainty at this “end of history”. Situating both senior figures and more recent “field philosophers”who draw on multiple disciplines, the presentation foregrounds how their ecosophical writings highlight core assumptions in humanity's approach to nature, the non-human, and bioethics. It thereby seeks to supplement ecological perspectives that overlook cultural difference, and demote humanities-based formulations of appreciation and insight, valorization and alertness. It is argued that registering ecological change in a more than globalist quantitative way helps to build a necessary sensitive semiotics encompassing both the general mandates of urgency, accountability and agency on the one hand, and the more existentially and morally proximate conditions of vulnerability, experience, and affect on the other.

Sean Hand, 英国华威大学法语研究教授，致力于研究法国反思性和哲学性著作。获牛津大学学士、硕士和哲学博士学位，及华威大学工商管理硕士学位和文学博士学位。曾出版、翻译及编辑专著24本，并发表专著章节及学术论文60余篇。法国学术棕榈骑士勋章获得者，欧洲科学院院士，英国高等教育学院高级研究员，图灵研究所人工智能艺术指导委员会委员，六所国家研究委员会或基金会评审专家，多所大学客座教授，并担任多个国际咨询委员会委员，如Global@Venice项目。
